Big Bud is a 16 year old Mustang who came to live with us in August of 2012. While working at a local
rescue I received a call from a gentleman who needed to find a home his one eyed mustang due to medical
reasons. He was able to rehome 3 out of 4 of his horses, but Bud was proving to be a little more difficult
to home even though he was a great riding horse. When I asked what the horses name was, he said “we call
him Big Bud.” That just about signed the deal for me. You see my daughter had lost her elderly one eyed
TB a few years back and seemed to drawn to the horses that had some type of disability. To seal the deal,
his name just happened to be Bud. We made arrangements with this nice man to have Bud delivered. Lo
and behold when we drove up our drive way on the appointed day he was waiting with saddle on ready to let
my daughter have her first ride. Out of the car she went and both daughters were soon on the back of
this sweet giant of a horse. The gentleman walked with them up the drive way wiping tears as he walked.
He wanted to make sure that they knew Bud was a nice horse and although he was big, nothing to be scared
of. That was a great day for us, Bud has proved to be one of the sweetest one eyed giants we have had the
pleasure of taking care of.
